Advent is one of the busiest and most commercialized times of the year. The weeks leading up to Christmas are packed full of shopping, gift giving, recitals, parties, holiday movies, and more. It's easy to get lost in the rush of the season and completely miss the reason for the celebration. How can Christian families keep the focus of their celebration on the birth of Jesus Christ when so much else clamors for attention? This book can help!

Christmas Traditions Through the Lens of Scripture is an advent book like no other. For each day of December leading up to Christmas Day, I look at one common element of traditional Christmas celebrations and find a scriptural tie-in, even for those elements rooted in secularism. From Christmas trees, candy canes, stars, and decorations to Santa Claus and his reindeer, I help believers look for Jesus in the unexpected details. Each entry includes a "Digging Deeper" listing of related Scripture to boost the day's reading into a true Bible study.

Full-color illustrations, created by my daughter, enhance this engaging Bible Study and are repeated in the back of the book. These may be cut out and used for an advent calendar.

In addition to creating all the original illustrations for the book Christmas Traditions Through the Lens of Scripture, Miriam took each painting and converted it to a sketched version in order to offer a coloring companion for little ones. This resource can be found in Miriam's Etsy shop.
